Youth Council brings youth across Museum programming together to create stronger partnerships between youth and The Field Museum. Youth Council is made up of 12-14 teens from across the Chicago area who meet one Saturday per month from September through May, and plan three curioCITY events. curioCITY is a teen-only evening of career exploration that matches a Field Museum scientist together with a non-scientist. Past Youth Council projects include a video about how teens can get involved at The Field Museum as well as 2015’s This is How We Science teen night, which engaged 150 area teens with information about natural and social science careers.
Applications for Youth Council are open until July 28th. Any teen who is interested in the program is invited to apply, and a select group of teens will be invited to an in-person interview during the week of August 8th. For more information contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
